The winds have died down. The snow is melting and soon winter will be giving way to spring. No doubt we’ll still see some cold weather, perhaps more snow. Whatever we get to see we know it will be amazing! I smile as I sit and write this. The dogs are curled up in my office and if I stop and gaze at them tails thump and heads raise in anticipation of a walk….
Valentine’s Day is behind us now. The wonderful wine dinner that Gloria and Steve Pignatiello have is on the radar for this weekend. Fires are still burning heavily in the hearth and the scents from Chef Frank and LBEE in the kitchen smell wonderful. I don’t know about you, but this seems to have been the “winter of discontent”! From politics, to the stock markets to even the weather, everything seems a little discombobulated (I’ve always wanted to use that word!).
It seems to me that this is a perfect time to escape….to put on some comfortable shoes, sit in front of the fire with a glass of wine or something stronger with a good book in hand or your arm around the one you love and take a deep breath…or two or three. My father, now at age 90 often reminds me that all of those things we think are “really big deals” right now will turn out to be nothing more than a wee bump in the road of life when we look back on it. I hope that Snowbird Mountain Lodge is a place where you can come and put things into perspective.
This place, now open for 75 years is really all about that. We are waiting for you. Lot’s of great things are happening on the mountain and while you can join us for any of our special events, you can also just come and “be” creating your own story, your own “magic” that this place is famous for. I look forward to your visit.
